Project Details

The aim of this undertaking is to engineer the necessary firmware to control an industrial-grade amplifier. This device, capable of both DC and AC dual output, has stringent control specifications. We're looking for an experienced contractor to complement our team, someone with an in-depth understanding of the working principles and control methodologies for power amplifiers, both linear and switch-mode based. The firmware to be developed should incorporate all necessary precautions related to high-voltage safety, including scenarios where the amplifier is tied to the grid. The final firmware must be tested to verify the amplifier's safe operation under conditions such as: - Hooking and unhooking from active DC lines - Open circuit detection: Maintain high impedance output - Loss of power - Software-controlled emergency disconnect - DC line voltage spikes - AC line surges - Overcurrent, overheating, overvoltage and under voltage A successful delivery of this project would encompass: - Simulation and design of hardware, complete with appropriate documentation - Development of the controller and implementation of the engineered control strategy on the provided DSP, ensuring all timing specifications are met. - Validation of hardware and documentation of the established performance and reliability metrics. We are in search of seasoned power electronics developers with a core focus on control development and implementation using C or C++ on powerful DSPs or microcontrollers. Prior experience with battery chargers, EV applications, or Dual Active Bridge with Isolated outputs topology will be considered a significant advantage. Experience with C2000 series MCU from Texas Instruments is preferred. If not that, than a similar product line (Real time MCUs) from other make.
